Monday, Bali time with another unknown day ahead - oh yeah, except for a trip to the hardware store for parts to fix the front screen door closure and replace the water purifier spout.  Right up my ally and the only reason David wanted me to come - cheap foreign labor! (;

Today’s early post is a follow up to yesterdays Cremation Post with pictures and videos, hopefully done without any problems like I had last night - don’t ask......of course, anything new and exciting that is news worthy as day goes on will be posted this evening.














   
         























                            
      




          

  





                         


Departing after a full morning of traditional Balinese cremation ceremony - impressions, feelings, cultural perspectives, not soon forgotten.

                             


     

   
Sunday buffet at Cafe Batu Jimbar, interesting combination of good Balinese food.  Was forewarned about taking the VERY SPICY condiment but confidently took a dollop since I use  Arizonan South Western jalapeño and habenaro peppers frequently - WOW 🥵!!  All I could do to keep from jumping up and racing to the beach for a full body immersion........


Hangout towards the end of the day at Genius Cafe to swim 🏊‍♂️ , write this blog sipping fresh coconut water, people coming and going, dogs and children scurrying about, live music starting up, sun eventually going down and getting dark, energy around me quieting down as I finish up writing.  Time for bowl of tomato soup, wrapping it up and slow, pleasant walk on very dark night through the beautiful grounds of resort to home.

Snorkeling the “Japanese Shipwreck” 🤔

Is it, or not?  That is the question but, explain later, another fine adventure in the colorful clear coastal waters of Bali!  What a full day it has been but, somehow as I finally get back to my room and try to gather my thoughts and memories, it seems both incredibly active yet evenly paced and calm at the same time.  You might know whereof I speak with similar time warping experiences of your own - perhaps moving fast, slowly? Rice Terraces of Jatiluwih & “Da” Godfrey

Yesterday’s journey to the interior turned out to be longer than anticipated - not unusual as these trips have proven and while we were tired afterwards, it was interesting and satisfying.  The morning started out with a stop at the BIWA, Bali International Women’s Association that Katrinka is a member of, for their annual environmental fund raising bazaar and would be there assisting all day.  We arrived early with our replacement driver for the day, Ketut - sort of relative of Komang, our unavailable regular driver.  We walked among the various booths selling everything and anything - clothing, food, electronics, used household items, drinks, you name it.  We were here so David could give one of the opening invocations starting off the days event.  The four major religions of Bali - Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity are represented with a prayer given by someone in that community to start things off.  David gave the Buddhist Mantra of Loving Kindness blessing and friend and
