Nightlife On The Beach
It’s Halloween and what better way to avoid the hoopla then be in Bali on the beach boardwalk at night, eat at a nice restaurant, OOMBA, with live music by friends of David and Katrinka? I had the recommended red snapper with tangy green sauce, grilled potatoes and salad, shared spring roll and guacamole appetizer and soda water with lime all for about $7.00 - unbeatable on all accounts.
Katrinka’s friend Kim, her nurse practitioner originally from Australia and son Chris, 31 yrs young and born in Bali, both highly talented musicians provided quite a diverse variety of music along with friends Phillip and Rubin. Phillip is a very talented singer who was a runner up on Indonesias Got Talent show, plays locally as well as other countries in region and Rubin delivers organic food, sings and likes to enter debates refuting the notion there is a god, high blasphemy in Bali and could be big trouble, eventually. The tables around the deck on the other side of boardwalk that overlooks the bay filled with boats was crowded with bules - one long table of 12-15 young blonde women that we surmised were from Sweden and a number of other Europeans and Australians and a few locals. When we finished our dinner inside the open air restaurant we moved outside and sat on a bench on the boardwalk waiting for a table to open up on deck - the music was inspiring some to dance and we were all tapping our feet and clapping, everyone in the groove. We finally moved onto the deck and enjoyed the intimate setting with the remaining hangers on, mostly friends.

Sad to see this saga winding down. So diverse and in such a short time--- 10 days? Two weeks tops. Amazing to you I'm sure and in the twinkling of a jet lagged eye you'll be back among the Saguaro wondering how you got there. The saga will continue with more installments of the Goyo Chronicles.
